Local coverage
We have engineers based in Liverpool, so the city and the wider Merseyside area are covered directly from within the region.
We regularly work across Liverpool and Merseyside, including the Wirral, St Helens, Widnes, Runcorn, Bootle and Southport.
Why Liverpool buildings need fire damper testing
Liverpool's estate mixes a dense waterfront and city-centre commercial core — much of it converted historic warehouse and dockside building — with a large healthcare and university sector and a strong hospitality and leisure scene. Converted and listed buildings often have retrofitted mechanical ventilation, with fire dampers tucked into constrained risers and voids, while the newer hospital and campus estates carry extensive modern ductwork. Both need the same thing: dampers located accurately and drop-tested on schedule.
How the testing works
Wherever the building is, the method is the same: we locate and register every fire damper, physically drop-test each one to confirm it closes, repair or replace any that fail, and issue full certification — in line with BS 9999:2017 and HTM 03-01, at intervals not exceeding 12 months. For the full detail on drop testing, standards and remedial works, see our fire damper testing service.
Common questions
Do you cover Merseyside beyond Liverpool itself?
Yes — the Wirral, St Helens and the wider Merseyside area are all worked from our Liverpool base.
Can you handle older, converted buildings?
Yes. Much of Liverpool's stock is converted or listed, where dampers can be hard to reach — we survey first, then test against an accurate register.
