Overview
Premier Compliance replaced 75 fire-rated flat-entrance and communal doors to bring a Wales & West Housing block into full compliance — working throughout in a fully occupied residential building.
We surveyed every door, then scheduled installations block by block to keep disruption to residents to a minimum. The project met the requirements of Lot 7 and 8 of Fusion21's Building Safety & Compliance Framework.
Challenges
- Occupied homes — access coordinated around residents, with clear communication and booked time slots.
- A mix of door types (FD30 and FD60 flat-entrance and communal), each with different specifications.
- Making good and decoration to a high finish after each installation.
- Firestopping compatibility with every door installed.
What we did
- Installed 75 doors to FD30/FD60 standard with smoke seals and self-closing mechanisms, fitted by BM Trada-accredited technicians.
- Certified firestopping around every door using a compatible system.
- Plaster repairs, caulking and repainting so each area was left seamless.
- Weekly site meetings and post-installation inspections, with certificates of compliance issued.
Outcome
Full fire-door compliance delivered on time and on budget, with high resident satisfaction and complete certification.
