Following a successful competitive tender submission, Premier Compliance UK Ltd was appointed by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board to undertake a comprehensive fire door replacement programme at a General Hospital.
The project involved the removal and replacement of 32 fire door sets throughout the hospital, significantly enhancing the building's compartmentation and reducing overall fire risk while ensuring continued compliance with current fire safety standards with all fire doors being installed and certified through our BM TRADA Q-Mark Certification.
Our Approach Working closely with the client's representative, Steven Morgan, we developed a detailed fire door specification to ensure every door set was manufactured to meet the operational and fire safety requirements of the hospital. The installation programme included a variety of door configurations, including:
Single fire doors Double fire doors Fire-rated side screens Fire-rated fanlights Several installations were located within high-risk clinical areas, requiring meticulous planning, careful sequencing of works and close coordination with hospital staff to minimise disruption to critical healthcare services.
The project also incorporated specialist access control systems, which were integrated into the door design and installation process to ensure full compatibility with the hospital's existing security infrastructure.
