Overview
Premier Compliance carries out yearly inspection, cleaning and testing of all fire and smoke dampers across the Health Board's estate — 3,000 dampers over 20+ sites, including two general hospitals (Ysbyty Gwynedd and Glan Clwyd), community hospitals and surgeries. We were the first company to comprehensively survey the estate, identify every damper and produce a complete asset list with location drawings for fire audits.
Challenges
- No marked drawings — we marked up flow plans so teams could test systematically and accurately.
- Ventilation cleanliness — duct cleans carried out alongside testing (important through the pandemic).
- Fire stopping & compartmentation — assessed and remediated around the dampers.
Outcome
Detailed reports, updated drawings and asset lists for easy future audits; corrected installation defects (e.g. mis-wired motorised dampers) through the builder's-defects process; all KPIs met with no disruption to patient care.
